We extend to all a warm and cordial invitation to United Tamil Church of Houston. Our goal is for visitors, newcomers, and members to experience the graciousness of God in a welcoming community of faith where all can establish a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ and each other. Our vision is to be a church in which every person is actively growing as a disciple by being connected to Jesus Christ, to others in the body of Christ, and to the community. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. United Tamil Church of Houston purpose is to primarily reach the Tamil speaking people with the gospel of Jesus Christ, the first son of God. To accomplish this we have four major strategies.

  • Invite: People to Christ including non-Christians.
  • Inspire: People in relevant worship to grow closer to God.
  • Include: People in a small group for Christian love and support, and in a ministry to change the world.

What We Believe

Grace is God's loving action in human existence through the Holy Spirit. God endows each person with dignity and moral responsibility. The full splendor of true humanity is seen in Jesus Christ. Change in the human heart can and does occur through grace and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Sacrament of Baptism

Baptism ushers you in to the Christian church universe, the family of Christ. Through baptism, we accept God's gift of grace through Jesus Christ and yields our lives to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Water is the special symbol of baptism. One can be baptized at any age. Sprinkling is most commonly used, but immersion is also permissible.

Sacrament of Holy Communion

This is a holy meal ofbread and juice that symbolizes the body and blood of Christ. By sharing this meal, we give thanks for Jesus Christ's sacrifice for our sins. Holy Communion recalls the life, death and resurrection of Jesus and celebrates the unity of all the members of God's family. Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent oftheir sins, and seek to love in peace with one another. You do not have to be a United Tamil Church of Houston member to receive communion with us.
